INTRALINK OPENS SILICON VALLEY OFFICE, APPOINTS ALAN MOCKRIDGE PDF 打印 E-mail
Santa Clara, California – 1st April 2008 – Asia pacific market access specialist, Intralink, is building on its successful record with North American ICT clients by establishing a subsidiary, Intralink America Inc., in Silicon Valley. Alan Mockridge, an Intralink SVP, has relocated from Tokyo to head up the US operations.

Intralink provides market access and business development services to companies targeting Japan and China. Since 2003, the company has worked with more than twenty US-based clients in the communications, electronics, broadcasting and enterprise sectors. Clients include venture-backed companies like Brilliant Telecommunications, a provider of timing solutions; FusionOne, a leader in mobile content back-up; and Intelliden, a provider of intelligent networking solutions. Intralink also acts for intellectual property company InterDigital, and has completed work for glass and ceramics specialist Corning and leading games publisher THQ.

Among Intralink’s suite of market access services is the company’s ground-breaking Surrogate Sales Program™, which launched in 1997. The program provides technology companies with a low-risk, transparent and scalable route to the Japanese and Chinese markets through bilingual, bicultural teams based in Tokyo, Shanghai and Shenzhen. This unusual approach has proven highly effective in delivering greater ROI through reduced times to revenue.

Among Intralink’s successes are San Diego -based DivX, Inc. and Silicon Valley-based Ecrio, Inc., for whom Intralink managed highly-successful licensing campaigns. For DivX, famous for its popular online video codec, the initiative resulted in more than 30 Japanese licensees – among them household names in Japan’s consumer electronics industry – and was an important contributor to the company’s $140m Nasdaq listing in 2006, while for Ecrio Inc. success with NTT Docomo brought more than $20 million in additional funding, much of it from investors in Japan.

Alan Mockridge, a British national and fluent Japanese speaker, was directly involved in both of these successes. “There is no doubt that the Japanese market can deliver benefits far beyond revenues. From our experience with DivX and Ecrio, we have seen how it can have a dramatic impact on the attitude of investors, and we are now seeing the same with China,” he said. Alan, who spent fifteen years in Asia, started his career in a system engineering company, where he worked on the introduction of General Motors’ first production line in Shanghai.

Intralink CEO James Lawson commented, “Over the eight years that Alan has worked with us, he has been instrumental in developing our communications, electronics and software businesses in Japan. He was the obvious choice to grow our US business and I am confident that he will persuade many US companies of the benefits of working with Intralink to access the Japanese and Chinese markets.”
