1st November, 2005 - Japan and China market access specialists Intralink today announces the appointment of Paul Dimond, the former British Ambassador to the Philippines, as a non-executive director.

With a long and distinguished Foreign Office career, including postings in Europe, as Consul General in Los Angeles and in Asia, Paul brings a wealth of experience to the Intralink board. A fluent Japanese speaker, he spent 14 years in Japan, including four as Commercial Counsellor in the British Embassy in Tokyo, working with a range of UK companies to build a presence in the world’s second largest economy.

Paul, who retired from the British Foreign Office earlier this year following a posting as British Ambassador in the Philippines, will work with Intralink CEO James Lawson on business development activities in the UK with a particular focus on technology companies. He will also work to raise Intralink’s profile with the UK Government and agencies with interests in the Japanese and Chinese markets.

Paul Dimond said: “I look forward very much to working with James and his team across a range of interesting and challenging projects. Intralink already has a very successful platform – and a superb track record - for helping businesses grow in Japan and China and I hope that my contribution will continue to build their profile both in the UK and across the Asia Pacific region.”

Intralink CEO James Lawson added: “Paul will be a very valuable addition to Intralink. His in-depth knowledge of the entire region, his first hand experience of working with businesses striving to enter the Asian marketplace and his extensive range of contacts will help both Intralink and our clients enormously.”
