France’s Teamcast S.A. selects Surrogate Sales Program™ to crack the Japanese market

London, UK – 6th September, 2007 – Intralink Limited has expanded its European, ex-UK client base to 10 companies following the announcement by Teamcast S.A. of Rennes, France, that it has appointed Intralink to drive its business development activities in Japan. Under the agreement, which came into effect on 1st August, Intralink will target the broadcast equipment divisions of Japanese electronic giants like NEC, Toshiba and Hitachi through its trademark Surrogate Sales Program™.

Teamcast was founded in 2003 by CEO Jean-Luc Pavy and fellow company executives Gerard Faria and Eric Spampinato. The company, which has received funding from France Telecom’s venture capital arm, Innovacom, manufactures hardware components, such as MIP inserters, modulators and repeater engines, for use in transmission equipment for terrestrial and mobile digital television. The company counts leading multi-national broadcast equipment makers like Harris, Rohde & Schwarz and Thomson among its customers.

“We chose Intralink because we were impressed by their track record of assisting European companies in the Japanese static and mobile TV and broadcast markets. Japan represents an important market opportunity for Teamcast, and we are confident that Intralink will get in front of the major Japanese OEMs to give us the best chance of developing new business with these companies,” said Jean-Luc Pavy.

“We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Teamcast,” commented Intralink CEO James Lawson. “Through our activities for companies like Pro-Bel, Isilon Systems, Frontier Silicon and S3 Group, I am confident that we have the breadth of experience and contacts in the Japanese broadcast sector to deliver results for Jean-Luc and his team,” he added.

Intralink manages its three-stage Surrogate Sales Program™ through teams of Japanese- and Chinese-speaking western project managers based in Tokyo and Shanghai. In the first stage, the company validates and quantifies the market opportunity by accessing customers and stakeholders across the target sector. In the second stage, the project manager implements the sales plan with an emphasis on driving near-term revenues, while in the third stage the company works with the client to break out of the programme by setting up a local entity or partnership. The programme is specially tailored for venture-funded technology companies seeking low-risk and accelerated market access to the Japanese and Chinese markets.

In selecting the Surrogate Sale Program™, Teamcast becomes Intralink’s 10th European client from outside the United Kingdom. The company follows silicon vendors Movidia and Lightstorm Networks and mobile TV software company Silicon and Software Systems (S3) from Ireland; IP telephony solutions provider Wicom Communications and online gaming company E-Sports Nordic from Finland; floor-grinding equipment maker HTC Sweden; bank-security software vendor Net Economy and composite materials supplier Colbond from the Netherlands; and airline galley equipment maker Iacobucci S.p.A. from Italy – Intralink’s first European client from outside the UK
