Junko graduated in 1999 from the London School of Economics with an MSc in International Relations and joined the corporate strategy group at Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting, where she worked with both Japanese and foreign companies in the insurance, travel, construction, retail and consumer product industries. 

At Intralink, she has worked with a cross-section of retailers and brand owners to secure joint venture, license and franchise agreements with Japanese partners. She has set up and managed concessions and shop-in-shop boutiques in department stores. She has also established and expanded the network of automated retail shops in shopping centres nationwide. She has worked with a variety of products, including apparel, fine jewellery and accessories. In addition to her work for retailers, Junko has also completed Japan market opportunity assessments for a range of US and European companies in the food, FMCG and other sectors.
