Huw Thomas PDF Print E-mail

Huw graduated with a BSc in the UK and has lived in Japan since 1995. After gaining language experience with Japanese local government, he worked for five years as a software and marketing engineer for Sanyo Semiconductor Company with a focus on semiconductor, RFID and biometric technologies. While at Sanyo, he was the only westerner invited to join a Sanyo spin-off company to manage a number of high-profile projects, such as the supply of a security card and surveillance system for the 2003 WTO conference in Mexico.

Since joining Intralink, Huw has worked with a variety of display and semiconductor technologies and has experience of licensing intellectual property to tier-1 OEMs in the consumer electronics, automotive and telecoms sectors. He has been instrumental in securing some high-profile deals for our UK- and US-based clients, particularly in the telecom sector where he has closed deals with major Japanese OEMs worth millions of dollars. Huw has also developed and implemented successful ‘turn-around’ strategies for clients whose sales through existing distribution channels have stagnated or gone into decline, and executed go-to-market strategies for clients with disruptive technologies in the growing eBook, touchscreen and OLED spaces.

Huw is the Managing Director of Intralink Japan and also heads the CE, Semiconductor and Displays team in the company's Tokyo office.

Richard Lyle PDF Print E-mail

Richard worked for UK Trade & Investment helping British companies develop their business in Japan and Japanese companies expand their activities in the UK. His work focused on the Electronics, Life Sciences and Energy sectors and he helped companies such as Takeda, Sharp and Panasonic gain access to advanced technologies for use in production processes or final products.

Prior to that, he worked for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in their international purchasing division, buying equipment for power plants. He first came to Japan in 1992 and has lived in Nagaski, Fukuoka, Osaka and Tokyo. He has diplomas in Business and International Trade, a degree in Applied Science and an MSC in environmental Technology from Imperial College.

At Intralink, Richard has worked in the mobile comms sector, licensing a service delivery platform and associated applications to Japanese carriers through system integrators and resellers. He has also worked with a leading German software security company, to develop and implement their Japan market entry strategy, by coordinating all of the necessary set up arrangements and launch of its Japanese consumer software. Finally he has worked in the consumer electronics sector developing opportunities for a unique optical touch solution for a broad range of devices.

Richard is based in Intralink’s Tokyo office.

William Jasprizza PDF Print E-mail

Will graduated from Sydney University with degrees in Science (Biochemistry) and Law. He practised as a lawyer with a large Sydney law firm before moving to Japan in 1997 where he worked for local government, and then an educational software company, where he was a director and co-founder.

Will has worked with Japanese mobile network operators and system integrators in the development of femtocell technologies. In the biotech sphere he has carried out market assessments for medical device technologies and has been responsible for introducing cutting edge US biotechnologies to the Japanese pharmaceutical market. As a former lawyer and key member of the Intralink IPR team, Will has used his legal experience to great effect in patent licensing in the telecommunications and semiconductor sectors, closing several multi-million dollar agreements for clients with Japanese OEMs in 2010.

Maurice Bonarrigo PDF Print E-mail

Maurice came to Japan in 1994 after completing a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science with physics and engineering components at the University of Western Australia. Before joining Intralink in 2005, he worked at Sanyo Electric where he developed embedded software for microcontrollers, liaised with overseas technology licensors, and worked in technical sales and marketing. He also had a stint working in local government in Tokyo.

Maurice has broad experience selling semiconductors and software into the consumer electronics, telecoms and public sectors, and has worked with all the major Japanese OEMs and mobile network operators. He has completed projects in the biotechnology space and for clients with voice biometric solutions, automated retail systems and research materials.

Maurice is based in Intralink’s Tokyo office.

Enda Peoples PDF Print E-mail

Enda graduated from Dublin City University with a degree in International Marketing and Japanese. He moved to Japan in 1997 and initially worked with local government in Nagano before moving to Tokyo and working in the mobile telecoms sector as a project manager for an international software and solutions company whose clients included NEC, Vodafone, KDDI and Docomo. He was then engaged as a business development manager for a foreign architectural design company specialising in the food and beverage, leisure and entertainment sectors.

At Intralink, Enda has worked with the Japanese mobile network operators, system integrators and leading equipment OEMs to license mobile content backup and information extraction DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) solutions with applications in the defence and telecoms sectors. In the mobile telecoms and broadcast sectors, he has secured and implemented joint development agreements for next generation mobile base station and DVB amplifier technologies.

Junko Tajima PDF Print E-mail

Junko is a graduate of the London School of Economics and worked at the corporate strategy group of Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting before joining Intralink in 2005. During her career, she has worked with manufacturers, retailers and brand owners across a wide range of products and sectors, including apparel, fine jewellery and accessories, FMCG, medical devices, displays and mobile communications equipment.

Representing Intralink's clients, she has secured joint venture, license and other types of agreements with Japanese partners, set up and managed concessions and shop-in-shop boutiques in department stores, established a network of automated retail shops in locations throughout Japan, managed technical projects for clients in the medical device field, and worked in a high-level procurement capacity to select vendors and negotiate supply terms with leading Japanese OEMs for the purchase of multi-million dollar capital equipment.

Junko is based in Intralink's Tokyo office.

Jeff Chamberlain PDF Print E-mail

Jeff graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in international commerce and Japanese. He came to Japan in 2002 and worked in broadcasting and intellectual property licensing before heading up the after-sales support division of a component software reseller in Tokyo. He joined Intralink in January 2008.

Jeff has worked with UK and US clients to provide turn-key module solutions for digital radio receivers and internet connectivity to home audio manufacturers, as well as IR touch interface solutions for  CE, FA and POS applications.  He has evaluated and appointed distribution partners for a leading producer of R&D materials and designed and launched the company’s Japanese marketing campaign. For a UK-based manufacturer of marine navigation equipment, Jeff also developed sales of analogue and digital navigation tools to Japanese ship owners and coordinated a system to supply mega-carriers located in ports throughout the world in accordance with IMO (International Maritime Organisation) regulations.

More recently Jeff has worked in a capital equipment and material sourcing role for a client in the reflective media display manufacturing space. This includes custom development projects with tier-1 CFA producers as well as materials suppliers for bonding and barrier films with high optical transmission properties.

Jeff is based in Intralink’s Tokyo office.

Kshitij Kumar PDF Print E-mail

Kshitij was already a programmer with a diploma in advanced programming well before graduating from high-school. As an undergraduate physicist and astronomer at the University of Manchester, he received his first Master’s degree in Low-Temperature Astrophysics. After working in Manchester as a software developer for a year, Kshitij went back to university to complete his second MSc in East Asian Business at the University of Sheffield. He moved to Japan as a Management Consultant for a Japanese trading company, where he worked in both B2B and B2C sales for clients across a range of sectors.

Since joining Intralink, Kshitij has worked with clients in the FPD and CE displays sectors, on the one hand in a business development and sales role to license digital TV middleware and next generation OLED display technologies, and on the other in a sourcing role to select and purchase capital equipment for a manufacturer of FPD displays. In the course of his assignments, Kshitij has worked with the major tier-1 CE companies as well as the leading capital equipment suppliers.

Kshitij is based in Intralink’s Tokyo office.

Mark Wilcox PDF Print E-mail

Mark originally came to Japan in 1993 to pursue Japanese language and culture studies having completed his degree in Communications from San Francisco State University. In 1997 he returned to the US and held sales positions for large software and semiconductor enterprises in the US, Japan and Holland, where he managed a team for AdobeSystems.
 
Mark returned to Japan in 2003 as Country Manager for Techwell Inc., a company focused on LCD controllers for video applications and the security camera markets. Later he moved to On Semiconductor where he managed the company’s distribution and worldwide price negotiations with key accounts like Sony, Hitachi and Omron. He has secured ASIC design-ins at major Japanese corporations and has experience of developing sales channels through the appointment of local distribution partners.

Mark is based in Intralink’s Tokyo office.

Michael has a degree in Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences from Northwestern University in Chicago. He has lived and worked in Japan for 6 years and, prior to joining Intralink, worked with a foreign interiors company to develop their business strategy for Japan. He speaks fluent Japanese and is based in Intralink's Tokyo office.

Charles has a Master's Degree in in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Nagoya University. He has studied and worked in Japan since 2000, and is fluent in Japanese.

Prior to joining Intralink, Charles worked as an IT Consultant for a global pharmaceutical company as well as an interpreter/translator while completing his PhD work on the molecular structures of important bacterial and plant-derived biocatalysts at Nagoya University.

James read Geography at Newcastle University in the UK, graduating in 2007. Prior to coming to Japan, he had experience working in the surveying department of a large London-based construction company, dealing with a number of global clients.
